Take Your Meat Out
Take your meat out of the refrigerator about a half hour before you plan to grill it. This will allow the temperature to rise just slightly and allow the steak to cook more evenly.

Season Simply… But Generously
Season your steak before grilling, but season simply. Salt and freshly cracked pepper are all you need for maximum flavor. Generously coat your steak in salt and pepper, as this will create a crunchy crust on the outside.

Kick Up The Heat
In order to sear the steaks and create a nice char, you want to make sure you have a screaming hot grill. Place your steaks on a grill that is between 450 and 500 degrees for best results.

Flip It Once
Flip it once and only once to avoid drying out the meat. The more you flip, press, and prod, the more you risk the juices escaping!

Time It Right
Depending on the thickness and cut of the steak, you’ll need to time your grilling correctly. Grill your steak for 4-5 minutes on each side (longer if the steaks are thicker or you like them well done) and then flip and grill for another 3-5 minutes. You can always add more time on the grill or finish them in the oven, but you don’t want to over-do them!

Monitor Temperature
Don’t be afraid to use a meat thermometer. The following temperatures are for approximate levels of doneness: 125-130°F for rare, 130-135°F medium-rare, 135-145°F medium, 145-150°F medium well and 150-160°F for well done. When your steak reaches the desired temperature, take it off the grill.

Give It A Rest
Let your steak rest for at least five minutes before slicing it up. You will lose less juice when you cut it and your steak will be extra tender and delicious!
